Mother’s Child

A broken wash basin, a son with cerebral palsy and a dog that laps up the dirty diapers. Mother and informal carer Mary’s day is beginning to overwhelm her. So seriously that in the end she is almost literally drowning in the red tape of the healthcare system, when yet again she is calling with an obtuse administrator. With her graduation animation, director Naomi Voet pays tribute to the people she believes are the true heroes of our society: those who fully dedicate their lives to others.
